    Welcome. There are a couple other people here from your neck of the woods. I am always interested to see what people's opinions are from other places of the world.

    Portland Oregon, woot. I have to wonder however, why most of you are from the SE united states... I'm guessing because there aren't many trees in the midwest/southwest, and it's too cold in the north?

    A lot of the members here migrated from Whiteblaze, and its membership is heavily in this area - where the trail is. We also have both JRB and Speer hammock/accessory manufacturers close by, which might have something to do with it.

    I think a lot of it has to do with this board was started by the admin of whiteblaze.net with the help of Jeff. It was started because people over there were getting tired of all of the hammock talk. A bunch of us came over from there and it is a site mainly about the AT.

    Good thing is I think the hammock talk increased by a factor of 50 and a lot of people are now posting from outside of the world of the AT.

    How about a Hammacker from Carencro, Loiusiana. So for I have converted 3 people. They just so happen to be my two brothers and my best friend but one group can't take over the in a day.

    I am another Canadian. I am from Edmonton, Alberta (near the Canadian Rockies!) I love hiking and hammocking in the rockies!
