I had someone this weekend tell me there "friend" bought a us military hammock that was cheap, weighs 6lbs and was described like a clark jungle hammock with all things included(tarp/sleeve/suspension/pockets/mesh).
I tried googling but the firewall at work wont let me see some of these sites.
I thought I had read of one on here recently. They actually switched out the suspension with amsteel (however I could be wrong and it won't be the first time!).

A guy posted on here last week about switching out the ropes with amsteel on his military hammock. Turned out pretty nice and much lighter.

There is one made under several brands currently, and it's similar to the Army's version.
Just yesterday I had a chance to try one that looks like the one pictured above (lower picture) and I would not recommend it. Its only about 2 ft wide, there is no such thing as lying asym in this thing. I don't think I could sleep in it. It was made of canvas and had the bugnet, I didn't notice any pockets etc but I think its the one you're describing.
