Right on time... just before hopping into bed a quick check on HF's unread posts....

The Maestro himself with part 1 of a trip report.... Whooo buddy!

First of all: congrats to Wanderin' Fool with his b-day. Love your tarp with that pole mod!

It looks like a whole new Shug, no packa, no Greenbean, no Frankenquilt, no Hillbilly but you sure are enjoying yourselves there! That shepherd pie looks fingerlickin' good.

Thanks and looking forward to more parts...

Yeah.....too cold for Frankenquilt. Had to finally get the Snipe out there. Wish I had brought the Packa...missed it. I hate to say but I did love the SP 900. But Hillbilly is still on the team.

As always love coming along on your adventures Shug.

Wander'nFool Happy B Day. I like your UQP. I got one on order from 2QZQ as we speak and seeing yours in action makes me all that more excited.

Now when using a UQP with a partial length UQ....do you find you still need a pad or something underneath your feet or is enough heat held in with the UQP alone? How much "R" value would you say is added to the quilt with the UQP?

Thanks Shug and Wander'nFool for bringing us along on your adventure looking forward to part two.
Sometimes I like to hike and think, And sometimes I just like to hike.

Hiking is'ent about waiting for the storm to pass its about learning to hike in the rain.

    I got one coming too))))))
You would still need a pad or something in that kind of weather. Maybe gain 5 to 10º. Surely helps with the wind.

Couldn't wait till morning and coffee this time--when I saw it up I had to watch it right away--make for a better evening after a somewhat tough day. Happy 50th, Wanderin' Fool. My present was getting to go along with you on this cold weather trip. Yes, I'm another one liking the looks of those UQ protectors. Looking forward to part 2 and all the parts thereafter.

I can't get enough of the SHT and it's so great to see you two stompin' along on my two favorite sections.

Mr. Green and I went through a nasty storm one night on the Brule too. Fun and cold!

Did the Greylock keep you Redhot?

    Another Shug adventure.

That shepherd's pie looked tasty. Different gear on this trip here; looks like it all worked pretty well.

Looking forward to the next installment!

Happy 50th to WF. I'd like to give a shout out to 2QZQ and the UQ protecter as well. Used it for the 1st time this week and on my Lite Owl as well so WF and i were in sync ,,,sort of. Glad you boys got out. Cold and rainy here and sleet on the ground, Brrrr. I held off on the BR hat as i thought it would slip off my head at night but now with the more grippy stuff on the inside maybe its time,,,,thanks Shug
PS seeing WF's pole mod lookin so good makes me want to get it done.I need to go to the penny jar now ,,,,,,,and have a nap.

    Happy Birthday WF!!
    Nice spoontachula
Always good to see a pole mod--def. a sign of evolution.
I'd take the moon and stars over snow too.
Cocoon of serenity! Quote of the day.
Stuck in my cage right now so THANKS for the vicarious piney experience.
