    Hello from California

Hello newbie here, at least to backpacking and hammocking, looking for info on good beginner hammock setups and locations for hiking/backpacking. I've spent too many nights with a rock that I can't manage to avoid sticking into my side/back to not be interested in the possibility of camping without having to deal with that.

    Welcome to the forums.

There are so many great spots to camp near Roseville. You can go almost anywhere in the sierras, but my favorites are Lake Spaulding area, Tahoe National forest, Silverfork area, Loon Lake, Carson Pass area, Yuba river area and too many more to mention them all.

Enjoy the forums. The people are fantastic and the information invaluable.

I've been looking into the Tahoe National Forest areas I'll have to start checking out some of the trails but it's starting to be a little to late in the year for that.

Welcome from the North Bay. Drive through Roseville all the time on my way to the woods and snow. Agree with all the suggestions given so far on places to go. Get your setup and come out and hang with us!

    Welcome from Ontario Canada
When asked why I sleep with my shoes on? I don't need to out run a bear, just need to out run my camp mates.
