I have used reflectix as a pad to supplement my UQ in the deep cold. It works really well, and you don't really feel like you have a pad under you. It conforms well to your body.
Like shug, i have a small peice of reflectix for my legs where my uq doesnt cover.. It works amazingly well, and as stated above, it feels nothing like a pad. Though it is a little loud, it might help to keep any hungry animals from getting too close!
The only down side of reflectix is that it is a vapor barrier. If you have it right up against you watch out for moisture. Something in between to breathe a bit helps. I use it with my WBBB under my feet as I don't have a full length UQ, works great.

― Douglas Adams, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
It seems like it would fit nicely in between the layers of the double layered RidgeRunner. One could use the 48 inch wide piece and custom shape it to the contour of the Ridgy.
I do have an underquilt...I wonder if there would be a way (or a benefit) to attach below an underquilt...
The other day I tried to find something like reflectix on this side of the pond, but drew a blank. What is the insulating matter? I need to go to a baumarkt and explain to them what I'm looking for I think...
B&Q have rolls of it on sale in the uk. It's essentially just bubble wrap with aluminium foil on each side.
