Let me see if I have this right...one end snaps and the hammock stays suspended for a few minutes until the other end snaps....that's some really impressive "hang time" ya got goin' on there.

315# and I use a 7/16" solid dowel. No issues so far with that. But I have heeded Shug's words at all times. And keep the fish in the flounder perspective.
If it moves, you can eat it. No promises you will think it tastes good.

I have cf toggles cut from a section of a broken fishing rod, had myself and a friend bouncing around testing my did sewn channel hammock last week (at the same time = 400lbs plus) and no ill effects to anything.
Don't know what dimension cf toggles are that are bought from vendors but mine are around 80mm by 6mm across, by 1mm wall thickness.
Maybe because you are using 3/4" webbing it doesn't spread the load as much... i think most folk use 1" webbing?!?

I agree. I weigh around 250 now and I've hung off a cheap marker, but barely.

    The marker still works.

I've crushed aluminum arrow shaft toggles before. Yes, hung on the knot. Once the compression happens, it will bend over. I mentioned this in another thread but I use 3" pieces of stainless steel brake line. Have never had an issue with those.

i have had it where i thought it was set and layed down in it or adjusted something only to go back and check the msh/whoopie had slipped. remember the 2 materials you are using are very slippery. now i double check before getting in for the night. I am maybe not as big as 300 but at 250 i worry about bouncing in the middle of the night.
