AHT is a 22-23 mile loop trail a little west of Corydon, IN. It's a nice trail that I have done a couple of times...occasionally good views of Indian Creek 'gorge', the Ohio River, and the Blue River. In spite of those views, water is rather scarce...I have either cached water or carried a lot! I'd go, but have a commitment early Sat. afternoon. Trail blazes are not the best, so one also needs to pay close attention to the map! I've only done it as a groundling, but there are plenty of trees for hanging!

We have our trip planned out and definately caching water. Spoke to stae forest people and they said the trail is still bone dry from the drought this summer. Looks like cool, but clear weather. I'll post some photos as this will be my first 2 night hang. Can't wait.

A friend of mine his done it twice now and loves it. But the water thing sucks. I spent a lot of time around Corydon growing up. Such a fun outdoorsy place. Make sure to wear plenty of Orange. Have a great trip.

    Change of plans.....

My brother-in-law bailed on me last night so this has turned into a solo hike and hang. I have decided to change venues and hike the Two Lakes Loop in Hoosier Nat.'l Forest. I am trying to determine a good location to cache water.
Anyone familiar with this trail? It looks like the S. Indian Lake Road takes you right to the Indian Lake levee and would be a good cache location, but I can't get ahold of the forest service to verify. Any input would be appreciated as I live 1.5 hours away.
    Thanks everyone.

Had a great time. Campsite was on a cliff overlooking the lake. I got to set up my Kelty Noah's 12 for the first time. Love this tarp. So versitile. Here are some photos.
