Barrow metric pressure, abrasion, and the number 4.
Which is stronger the whoopie or the ring? More importantly, does it matter?

So I have it a try today. 3 hours in the hammock no slip. I am using spyderline and it has a grippy sheath I went with 5 wraps

I feel like spyder line grips a lot better and I too use 5 wraps

I am almost finished making a DIY hammock, probably close to an 11 footer. H
How much Amsteel would you recommend per side for the SRS solution?
I'd be going with a similar solution as Bonepile... Tree hungers->MSH->Amsteel/SRS->hammock
To all of you who's got this to work: any problems with readjusting?
I use some weird suspension line, it's called "trimmerline" and it's used in sailing somehow. I'm not a big fan of the wet stuff so I have no clue of what it's for exactly. The line is 4mm in diameter, it's got a plastic core, and is rated 360 kg (almost 800 pounds, 793 IIRC).
My problem, and I suspect it has to do with my choice of line, is that once the wraps are constricted by my weight (in the hammock), it's almost impossible to "unconstrict" to readjust. If there's no weight on it at all, I can sort of do it. But that means I have to pull on my hammock to slack the SRS, and it's still almost impossible to loosen up the wraps with one hand. If I had three hands it would work beautifully
The wraps (3-4-5, no difference) are twisting the adjuster line around the biner no matter what I do, and that seems to screw it up for me being able to readjust. So for now I'm going the truckers hitch route instead, but even though it works great for me I like the complete simplicity of the SRS, and would rather make that work.
Can't wait for Grizz's video, everything seems to clear up when he gets explaning!

I have no problem adjusting with 3 wraps of 7/64 amsteel and holds perfect. No slippage and all I do is grab the ring and lesson the tension on it to either loosen or pull tight. Just be sure your line your using to tighten or loosen is straight under the 3 wraps or more. Your adjusting line should be running straight under the wraps and not curved around ring.

I have had no issue with my set up. 3.8 spyderline on screw link.
