I was going to reply to this thread yesterday, but...

Yup! Always last minute with the packing, and on the rare occasions that I do it early I just have to pull everything out because I forgot something, or because I forgot to remember if I forgot something, or...

Half the time we plan for a trip last minute anyhow, so I'm starting to think I need a family camping bugout bag that has the basics in it--that's half the battle for me and mine. How awesome it would be if all I had to worry about was clothing and perishables. Oh! and the kids

Yeah, still gotta finish the 40-degree IX layer of my underquilt...along with the shoulder straps for my pack that I've been putting off...and the draft skirts on the hammock...and order materials for the first layer of the topquilt...and...

Why do now what you can easily put off until tomorrow?

My gear more or less stays packed, I just have to throw clothes in my bag on the way out the door.

I put it on my computer calendar with a reminder 1 day before, then when it pops up, I hit snooze for 1/2 a day, then I hit snooze for 2 hours, then I hit snooze for 30 minutes, and then I have to go to a meeting and when I get back I missed the reminder.

I'll be back, I have to put it on my calendar.

As for packing, I do have a list of gear to take. I have been meaning to update, but haven't. I just can't figure out why. I'll use the list from the last trip to pack for the next. Which explains why I go camping in the summer with a 0 deg winter UQ Hmmmm, ya I really need to update that list.
