    Winter Sock Question

So I'm thinking of picking up a Winter Sock from Dream Hammock for the NEHHA hang in January. Since I'm going to be using my tarp, should I just go with the uncoated winter sock?

I'd go with the tarp as well. Just an extra layer of protection IMO. You can set it up in porch mode.

Yes, if you use a tarp, go with the uncoated version. It'll provide much better breath-ability and less condensation buildup on the inside.

I am looking forward to checking out your Winter Sock at the NEHHA. I haven't looked into getting a sock as I have a BBO. I will be interested to hear how it works for you.

I love setting up porch mode, but every time I wake up in the morning all i see is a wall of fog. By the time the fog burns off I'm packed up and ready to hike.
Besides I'll have my doors on the tarp and porch mode is conducive to keeping the wind out.

Thought as much, but I wanted to be sure.

Hopefully I'll have my Circuit by then to. I have a gear wishlist that I just can't let my wife see, other wise I'll be sleeping in a hammock in the woods permanently.

I gone and did it. I bought a Winter Sock from Dream-Hammock. I bought the uncoated Sock since I'll be under the WBMJ. So now I have a little extra protection and dreams of cold hanging running through my head. The Winter NEHHA won't get here soon enough. And every time I make plans for a weekend trip a Honey-Do list pops up. I was planning on a small AT Hike in PA during the Thanksgiving Weekend. Now I'm heading down to Virginia to re-shingle the porch that was added to the permanent trailer in the campground we go to. I'm tempted to just pay for a tenting site just so I can hang during the weekend.
