I would realy try my hand at making a few items useing nylon.

My problem is, there are so many types of choices when it comes to Nylon that I have no idea where to begin.

70 Denier Nylon Ripstop
Micro Denier Ripstop
1.1oz 30 Denier Ripstop
Micro Ripstop
70D coated Ripstop Nylon Fabric with FR and UV Treatment
40 Denier Ripstop Nylon Fabric with DWR Finish
1.9oz or 70 Denier ripstop nylon fabric
420 Denier Coated Ripstop Packcloth Nylon Fabric
Downproof Ripstop Nylon (Nominal Fabric Weight : 1.87 oz per sq yard)

I dont understand the difference in 70, 40, 420 ripstop.

Maybe someone can also give a list of all the abbreviations that are used as well.

It would be nice to have examples of what each type of nylon is used for in the sticky as well.

I would like to make a down underquilt for myself for the winter and also some kids hammocks.
