Hi there. Im QuickSilver. I purchased an ENO a few months back, but I've recently been introduced to the real world of hammocking. My biggest goal is to make my own hammock. If you have any tips, I would be mooooore than happy to hear them! I think I know how I'm gonna do it, but I need to find some quality but still cheap materials. If you've got any advice for a nube hammocker, let me know! PLEASE!!! Thanks!

I checked out that JustJeff website and thats pretty much how I plan on making my first hammock. I just really need to find a place online to get good ripstop nylon and paracord! Also, I could really use some strap advice!

Whoppie slings seem to be. The most popular, although basic straps and buckles are often easiest for the beginner. The link above has some basic plans diagramming it out, along with tons of resources for both ways here on this site via search.

You can also buy material from tableclothsfactory.com to make your hammock out of. They have table cloths sized just right for a gathered end hammock. (60x126)

Will those tablecloth materials hold a lot of weight? Because I would hate to rip through my first hammock! lol
yeah the material used in the tablecloths is the same material used in several DIY and commercial hammocks. Hopefully someone with one will chime in. I believe PapaSmurf at dreamHammocks.com uses the same material for some of his hammocks.
