Lots of good tips. I always have assessed shelter first, then sleeping gear (quilts/bags) then the actual weight of your pack.
Those are usually the big offenders.
I didn't look through all of the posts but I think those enos are on the heavy side vs. something like a DIY or warbonnet. Also, a sill nylon tarp is a great way to keep it light at a reasonable cost. Using said tarp, if you have good tarp in skills you can get away with a fairly small tarp and still be sad in some nasty weather.
