The stand at my feet was then subjected to me trying to untangle myself while two dogs decided to play tackle the goof ball wrapped in the hammock. It was quite funny really. Thankfully I was only 12" off the ground and just happened to have a sleeping pad situated under the hammock.
After getting everything back in place one of the polls had slipped through the lashing.
Thanks for sharing the additional detail. Good to know that hanging things on the tripods isn't advisable.

I've bounced twice. Once to due to suspension failure causes by a bad compression knot (it was a Kustom suspension, before I found this site). The other due to me not clipping my grand trunk in correctly.

Basically, both caused by my own stupidity.

I busted hard in Unicoi when my camp stick broke in the MSH.

My stand has collapsed but it was a slow motion fall. Got my legs down in time.

I lost my pillow once over the side of my hammock. When I leaned over to pick it up off the ground, I suddenly found myself lying on the ground inside my bug net trying to get back up quietly so that my tent-bound buddies wouldn't come out and see me trapped like a bug. . .

    Just adds to the experience

When I did my Section Hike, I went to get in the hammock and completely missed it. Luckily only the squirrels saw that one.

Yeah, I once laid down in my underquilt, bypassed the hammock part in the dark. It was warm, but not very supportive.
