I intend to be up there this weekend - which campsite?
Nevermind - it appears to be site 17. I will call when I have them.

It ain't what you don't know that gets you into trouble. It's what you know for sure that just ain't so.

Too bad you forgot your straps, guess you'll just have to go back out and get them....
Shouldn't take longer than 3 or 4 more days

I know with all the crap in those pictures one would think weight is not an issue with me. But it is believe it or not. I use whoopies and bare tree straps because they are the lightest. No biners I feed the strap end thru the loop and use a fat stick for toggles. The down side is everything must be taken apart to remove it from the tree. To keep the weight low I think a soft shackle for the tree end and a couple mitten hooks with 1/16" shockcord to tether the whoopies to the TS will fix this for me. I will post up some pictures if this works. Doing a search I can't believe no one offers a commercial fix to this problem. OK maybe whoopie.com but I can't quite figure out what he is doing with the desender rings and all.
Done it! just put piece of florescent tape on strap! great reminder!
This issue is exactly why I hate detachable whoopie slings.
In my case, I made my own whoopies, and passed them through the fixed sewn loop on the end of my tree huggers, with a bit of silicone tubing to help reduce the abrasion. Now that I've used that setup for a few years, the silicone tubing is starting to wear through, and I'm thinking about other options.
Right now, I'm leaning toward using a set of elephant trunks, and using the hole in the middle to lash on a semi-permanent bead or other bit of material to keep the whoopies from accidentally coming out of the hook, but still making it reasonably easy to remove them if I have to for some reason.
O&B; I've got nothing to add about lost straps. Just wanted to say your rig looks better than i remember. cool

Envious setup and camp. It is unbelievable that you were able to pack and bike all that gear into your campsite. Curious. How much does the entire setup weigh (approximately)?
I've got a 2QZQ door and center pole tarp mod coming for winter use. I can't wait to try this in cooler temps.
I've been camping/backpacking all my life but am new to hammocks. Bro, you've taken hammock camping to a whole new level. One we can only aspire!
I enjoyed the pictures. Thanks for sharing.
O&B,
My usual mental lapse is leaving tarp CRL's. Bright yellow, head high, right in front of my face...
That's an amazing amount of gear to all fit on your bike, I think it would be fun to see a fast motion video of your load out.
Great rig!
