Making sure I did not forget anything

Yesterday I took the plunge and ordered what I hoipe is a complete hammocking sleep system to get me started.

But being a complete noob I thought I'd check with you folks to make sure I did not leave anything out, as non of this stuff can be sourced locally. So I do not wan't to lay siege to the mail box for a week, only to find out I forgot to order something essential, and will have to wait another week before I get to play with the goodies :-)

Oh, and tips about nice to have stuff is also appreciated :-)

Okay here is what I got on my list:

A hammock - TW Bivi Hornet XL (1,8m wide)
Under quilt - DD Snugpak under blanket
Tarp - DD XL Coyote Brown 4,5x3m
hammock suspension: Amsteel whoopie slings and trehuggers + carabiniers
300 ft of 550 paracord for tarp suspension, ridgelines etc...
Sleeping bag: Isbjørn Jan mayen (Comfort -22*C, extreme -40*C)

Else I got a Jerven bag, a Norwegian made bivi/survival bag that is like a space blanket on steroids. It zips up like a sleeping bag, with zippers on 3 sides and is insulated. That should get me out of the weather if it turns to muck on me...plus a couple of foam sleeping pads...

Anything I may have forgotten?

you may want to consider replacing that paracord with something that does not stretch when a load is applied to it, or when it is wet. Lash-t, Zing-It, Speer No-Tangle, or even mason's line may work better for your tarp suspension, guylines, tarp ridgelines, etc. Several of our HF vendors carry lightweight, non-stretching guy-line and suspension cordage in bulk lengths. 2d Loki's recommendation on replacing the paracord. Good luck to you, and you got some nice gear.

3rd Loki's suggestion. Paracord will work but you'll find yourself readjusting the lines especially if it gets wet.

i love paracord... but in hammocks and tarping there is better ropes... i use ZingIt for everything either the 1.75mm(what the dutch stuff is designed to work with) or the 2.2mm because regardless what some men say, bigger is better...
now i have had to use paracord as a tree strap when i didn't have enough ZingIt to get all the way around the trees i was hanging from... and 50+ feet still live in my pack... but the primary lines are ZingIt...

Looks like you got everything for car camping. If you are going to be doing much hiking, you may want to look at some type of water filtration.

Yes, Zing-it/Lash-it (same thing, just different names for different colors) will work much better for your tarp lines. Easily spliced too.

Looks like you got everything for car camping. If you are going to be doing much hiking, you may want to look at some type of water filtration.

I'm in North Norway. The water in just about every stream is clean, and ready to drink, no water filtration needed :-)

I won't be hiking more than a couple of km if that. It will be boat in the summer, or foot slugging a a couple of km at most. In the winter it will be skis and pulk. :-)

I can guarantee you that I won't find them locally, or even in my country....

Bah...spotted the link now. Well, I think I'll use what I got first, to see how much line I will need :-)

Never really used paracord for anything either, as thats another thing I can't find locally.
