was meaning to seal the underside, but thanks to beer i sealed the topside of my tarp. after searching around i never got a defined answer on where to apply. did i do it wrong? should i seal the underside as well? should i keep drinking?

I would have another beer and then take a nap under the tarp in your hammock. It's fine. The main reason to seal the underside is looks. Functionally the top is the side you want to keep water from getting through.

figured as much. mainly humoring myself on my dumbassedness. thx
currently taking him up on that
On my first DIY tarp I seam sealed the top only. First good rain under it I woke up to a drip. Now I seal top and bottom of my tarp seams. Of course I'm a belt and suspenders kinda guy, but my tarps don't leak.

Bschap1,
Doing things "due to beer" and "dumbassedness" sounds like my kind of folk!
