ASym Diamond Shaped tarp made of Cuben or Spinn

Does anybody make an Asym Diamond shaped tarp out of Cuben or Spinn fabric? What does it weigh? What's your opinion of diamond vs. hex shaped, coverage wise? Can you get the coverage you need 95% of the time with a diamond shaped tarp? I'm looking to subtract pounds from my pack.

    Thanks,
    Sky

Well I answered my own question - found one at zpacks.com that weighs 4.3 oz.. I bet it stuffs down pretty good too. My MacCat Deluxe weighs 13.9 oz. - a small difference of 9.6 oz. but it adds up.

I'd still welcome your opinion -

You might be able to get the folks at Mountain Laurel Design to make you a Spinn one. I did get one of the last ones they had in stock a couple of months ago. I stripped it down (took off the linelocs and used really lightweight cord for guy outs and ditched the stuff sack it came with for a cuben one) and got the weight to 5 ounces. The coverage is decent but I would not trust it in "Sandy" weather.

You might also get Warbonnet guy to make you one out of Silnylon; can't hurt to ask.

I expect Z-packs is the lightest though. Cuben is nice stuff!

Mr. Country Roads, I did exchange email with Brandon at Warbonnet about his Asym tarp. He'd dropped it from his line for lack of interest. Matt at ZPacks has already shipped mine, so I'm anticipating its arrival. I do lots of camping in the southwest where precipitation is minimal, so coverage shouldn't be a problem.

    Thanks,

P.S. I also have a hex tarp made of cuben, with doors, about 7.8 oz. The only problem I'd note it is that it's not quite as stable in high winds as a tarp made of silnylon.

I'll report here after it's arrived and I've had a chance to set it up in the back yard.

8.2 oz. Not cuben or spinn, but @ $80, seems like a fair compromise, btw, the weight includes guy lines and mitten hooks on the tie outs.
