    Tarp Selection

    Hey all,
I'm new to the hammock game here so bear with me. I currently have my own DIY hammock and I have been using an old blue tarp that is common pretty much everywhere. While this has worked for me in my past few trips I feel I need to put it back on the lawn mower and move to something different. I'm looking for a solid tarp that wont break the bank. I'm also not totally against attempting a DIY tarp, though I'm really not sure how to go about that. If you guys can send some recommendations my way I'd be very grateful. Thanks!

DIY Gear supply.com has some tutorials for tarp making. That could help some.

I’m not too sure what type of weather you're camping in, but the Wilderness Logics Tadpole has been an awesome tarp for me. It has a great price, extremely well made, packs small and seems to be just the right size without being so small I worry about getting wet, but it's not so big that I feel like I’m carrying extra weight.

The tadpole seems like a pretty sweet rig. Price points not to shabby either. I'm in Michigan so of course I deal random weather changes every 2 minutes or so. But in all seriousness, I basically need something to keep the rain/snow off my body. Thanks for the pics.

That Tadpole would be an excellent tarp for a SLS that puts the hammock right up under it. Nice price, too!
