Thanks you and the other contributors, ill give it a try. I was wondering what the knotty mod was. I thought it was a special knot on the gathered end.

Nice tutorial. I made a tablecloth hammock with the bigger tablecloth. I may need to try the smaller one.

I don't have a scale, but the fabric is about 2.6 oz per yard. 60x126.

I tried to do the math and I think it's about 15 oz? Math is not my strong point though...I could be wrong.

Caveman helped me make one at the Texas hangout a few weekends back... I used some ugly paracord because its what I have... It works... We also tried different whipping methods... I have yet to play for an extensive time to see if I feel a different but whatever it is... It's comfy...

I made my first tablecloth hammock just like in the OP, pulling out about 2 inches on the edges before whipping. It really is comfortable once I'm in, and the diagonal lay is quite comfortable. But I do have to get out of it with my hands pushing down into the middle of the hammock so that I don't put too much weight on the edges. And the edge often falls into my face until I adjust my position.

I wonder if it might help to pull a little fabric from the middle before whipping. It might make for an uncomfortable center ridge, but it could help the diagonal lay become even flatter and help with getting out.

My other thought for the next version was to NOT pull the edges so far, and maybe add knotty mods.

If love to hear from some of you who have already tried some of this.

Snugpak used doubled paracord to hang their bugfree model a couple of years back. I tried it and it works, but with a lot of stretch that requires a bit of adjusting. 1/4" Polyester rope worked much better
