I'm planning to build a Turtledog and hang a Brazilian hammock from it, to sleep on full-time. I'm looking at a 12' long Brazilian, which, based on my research, seems pretty decent for full-time sleeping (correct me if I'm wrong. I'm new to all of this.)

I was thinking 7' tripod legs for manageability. Roughly how long should my ridgepole be for the most optimal full-time sleeping comfort? 13'? 14'? Less? The smaller, the better, but I don't want to sacrifice comfort. I could also leave the legs at 8' if that would help.

Also, I see Brazilians do better at 45 degree angles, and putting that into the Ultimate Hang Calculator is telling me to hang the hammock at 8 or 9 feet! I don't want my stand to have to be that tall! (Even if the legs are my previous max of 8', the hammock would be hanging several inches lower than that.)

Thank you!!

(I thought this fit better under this forum category. Apologies if you read it already in the general discussion area.)
