It makes sense to add the knotty mod. But should I do this in addition to pulling in the edges prior to whipping, or should I just do a regular style whipped end with the round bulb of fabric which doesn't pull tighter on the edges? Both seem to be tightening the edges, so I wonder if both together wouldn't be too much.

Might be tightening too much... But you can do the knotty mod, and then retie the ends to suit the right amount of flap... That's what cool about cavemans way... It can be retied in 10 minutes... You can shorten the thing up to be a double layered gear hammock, you can do the W fold the U fold, the just crumple it up together fold... Pull the end don't pull the ends... Pull one end and not the other, do a different fold on either end... Make it your way...
Live, Laugh, Love, if that doesn't work. Load, Aim and Fire, repeat as necessary...

I have one of these made by caveman and I have a complaint about it. - I have to go to work and leave it for 8+ hours!

I LOVE that hammock! Super comfy.

    Thanks again Caveman.

Papasmurf(DreamHammocks.com) has some taffeta testing up to 500lbs... I think 300 is a safe bet.

I made a couple this past spring, the bigger versions (by far my favorite hammock), and my teen son will get in mine with me and mess with my head by swinging the living crap out of it, because he knows it scares me. That's a total of 365 lbs in it, plus the forces of the swinging. I've not crashed yet....Thank God! I think the simple fact that the suspension holds up to this crazy test of his is just amazing...more so than the hammock itself. I do get really upset though, I feel like it's a constant test of the Hammock Higher Powers that be, and eventually they'll stop protecting me.

its great to hear that others besides myself cant help but swing until someone starts screaming.

question. my tableclothfactory crinkle seems to have weak spots and its only been a week.
did i pull the ends out too much?
do you EVERYTIME have to fold the hammock in a u before flapping together?
