Here is my sub 10ib load for a thru-hike I did recently.
I could have gone even lighter if I wasn't carrying such a big hammock.

Shug,
I haven't laughed so hard in years. I love your videos. The entertainment value is great, whether you are teaching something about hammocking or not. Great stuff...keep 'em coming.
The beauty of sunsets,
The wind in the pines,
The mountains give these and more...
Peace of mind.
for relatively mild weather trips:
Pack: either a Gossamer Gear Gorilla or ULA Ohm (20 to 30 ounces depending on configuration I want to use)
Stove: Home made Esbit set up: from the lightest at 4 oz to heaviest at 8 ounces.
water stuff: Sawyer squeeze with containers = 3-4 oz.
Hammock: Stripped down Warbonnet Blackbird 1.1 single: 16.5 ounces including suspension.
Tarp: Cuben hex: 7.5 ounces
TQ: Leighlo summer quilt: 16 ounces + down pillow at 3 oz.
UQ: eighter Leighlo summer 2/3 quilt + pad = 15 ounces
or full-length summer quilt from Underground quilts = 19.6 oz
Clothes for weekend/longweekend/mild weather weeklong trips: as little as possible; down jacket 7.5 oz, Just-in-case pants & jacket 7.5 oz, extra pair of socks or 2 if week long trip; 3 oz per pair; extra pair undies if long trip; can go commando if I have to; Cuben poncho 5.5 oz (does extra duty as pack cover, ground cloth, hammock under cover).
My comfortable base weight for weekend/long weekend trips is around
12 pounds (this includes some comfort stuff once in a while). I am working that down to 10 pounds by making myself a custom hammock set up (hopefully with a weight around 10 to 11 oz) and using a diamond asym tarp for mild weather trips.
Hope this helps you out. You can go pretty light with a hammock if you want to.
Nice video Fronkey - does the dog bring a pad or just stays on the ground?
There was an Old Man with a owl,
Who continued to bother and howl;
He sat on a rail, And imbibed bitter ale,
Which refreshed that Old Man and his owl.WOO
She just finds a spot and crashes on the ground. However, when there is snow on the ground, I will be bringing a pad. The reason being is because a dog's feet has less insulation on the feet and deep cold can accelerate the chances of getting arthritis. Even my northern dog can have this problem and I plan on having her with me on the trail for at least the next 10 years.

Here's an overview video that I did on what I pack:
