    Whoopie and Ooh

Well I made my first set of whoopie slings in my first attempt at splicing, and thanks to the great info in the sticky/s they went together beautifully.
    And they work.
So thanks very much for all the info.
I used some mig welding wire from work as a fid, maybe a little thick, but it wasn't bending all over the place.
Amsteel from AHE, can't remember the dimensions, imperial doesn't stick nowadays as we are metric measrement here in Australia.

I also stitched some treehuggers with a Speedy Stitcher - much less happy with that. Two punctured fingers - it's a young man's game that.

There will be no pics of the treehuggers - we have our standards here on the Forum and i don't wish to earn the ire of Ramblin' Rev

    Congrats on your new suspension!
Be aware however, that splicing is addictive

My first set of tree huggers was made from 2 inch ratchet straps I had lying about in the garage with a speedy stitcher. I ended up with bandages on four of my fingers and one of my thighs getting those things together.

The worst part is that I never hung from them.

Looking at the stitching I'm not sure i want to hang from them anyway
If I do it's going to be over a nice thick self inflating matress, in case things go bump.

The thigh - yes at one point i'm about to push the needle through and the webbing was against my thigh-close call. I was nicely braced there but

MAD77-I can see it's addictive but how many whoopies can a hanger have - yes I know lots.

I just bought an extra set to keep my other extra set company.

Well - I bit the bullet and hung from my questionable tree straps at work today.
The "trees" were a couple of 3"(75mm) square steel columns in the lower floor office.
Annnnnnd - they didn't go "Snap, Crackle or Pop" ( The Rice Bubble Effect ), so I was pleased and have to say very surprised.
