Cool Harley and I go Sub Zero, Tips on keeping face warm??

My third hang this week in the backyard. Weather dropped to the mid 20s. Just got a little cold around the fringes of my two pads, and my face was a constant challenge. I had a baclava SP? on and a hoodie and a fleece hat, but I was also constantly trying to adjust my sleeping bag over it while leaving a breathing space. Harley, my Terrier friend helped keep me warm though, as well as a hot water nalgene bottle. I think I slept well most of the night though. Harley didn't seem to mind the howl of coyotes in the distance.

I am serenaded by coyotes every time I sleep in my back yard; noisy buggers!

I don't seem to mind the face issue too much, so I haven't invested too much time in resolving it. I know when I was first playing with temps below freezing, I used one of those dust masks you find at Home Depot. It kept something off my face, but allowed me to breath warm air and kept the majority of my face covered between the mask and my balaclava. I found I didn't like breathing the warm air and would wake frequently. It's the best I've got to offer for keeping your face warm. Hope you find a better answer.
    Trust nobody!

I have used Buffs to cover my forehead to tops of eyebrows, and to the bottom of nose leaving it exposed for breathing. You can get them even in polar fleece for heavier coverage. Being bald headed, then the buff is covered with a Black Rock down hat keeping the head toast. Works for me.

I use a buff. It's thin enough to breathe through, but is enough to keep my face warm.
With beauty all around you, may you walk.

If you are male, you could grow a beard, just keep it well groomed. When we first moved to the North, that is the first thing my husband did. He seemed to think it helped a lot. Our daughter was facinated with the ice crystals that formed on his beard.

I wear a Buff, it covers my hair and keeps me from getting tangled up in the devil known as velcro. I have found the Buff stays on my head and the one around my neck pulls up over my mouth, which works great for me. I have breathing problems due to a heart condition, I can not have anything around my nose, so I just burrow down into my bedding. I use the wool Buff's, they really do what they are supposed to do.
