I'm a female, 62 years young and still lovin' the outdoors. I've been an outdoors person since I was 2. My parents were big on camping. I hike a lot and fly fish, and have backpacked a few times. Lately I've been getting in better shape, losing weight, and can now do long day hikes with no problem (carrying 8-10 lbs.). I've tent camped my whole life, but my knees are shot and I can't kneel on the ground anymore, so it semed to me that a hammock would be the perfect solution to getting out backpacking again.

I'm a complete noob at hammocks, but they've always intrigued me. After watching way too many YouTube videos of people using hammocks, I decided to dive in. I ordered a Blackbird double layer 1.1 with the adjustable strap system and an Integral Designs Siltarp2. Now I can't wait to get out for my first hang.

You can bet I've got loads of questions!
