    Fabric for Tipi Liner?

Hey anyone know what I should use for a tipi liner?

I have an 8 man Kifaru w/o liner. I couldn't justify the cost at the time and don't really need a liner often, but it would be nice sometimes.

I'm guessing light color or even white, light weight as possible, breathable and probably dwr?

    That sound right?

Now where to buy that w/o breaking the bank...

    Any ideas?

    Nothing eh?

Well any source for a light weight white or off white breathable fabric that's pretty inexpensive? It can be seconds or probably even thirds.

Fabricsupplier has white in different flavors - WP and uncoated for less than $4 a yard.

Hope this helps. This is the cheapest I could find.

I had a Yurt for a few years, but liners were kinda spendy.

I would be interested in what you come up with.

Might be some time. I'm exploring fabrics now. I'm trying to determine the characteristics the liner needs.

I don't think it needs to be anything more than breathable and sturdy and light. Like 30D ripstop seconds if I can find that somewhere cheap.

I also haven't made a pattern yet so I don't know yet how much fabric I'll be needing but it will be a lot.

But Kifaru wants $359 for the liner...

have you thought about a painter's canvas drop cloth?

they come in several sizes & can be had at places like of Lowe's & Home Depot

i use them for making cowboy bedrolls & wagon flies

    good luck on your quest

Ask Kifaru what the fabric is.

How about a Parachute? I have one that is huge and white. I found it at a very unlikely yard sale for $25.00, plus a duffle bag to put it in.

Are you sure you want white, I think that could be blinding in the morning.
