    Down Pillows on eBay

Just wondering if anyone had any experience with these pillows for harvesting down for TQs and UQs.

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pillow-Inser...item337c812f30

Seems to be a good price but hopefully someone can chime in with some feedback on the quality of down in these pillows.

The "90/10" in the title is the ratio of feathers to down or down to feathers. Feathers add no insulative value but lots weight and bulk. So you want to avoid them. Try searching "my luxe". Myself and many others around here have used these to great success.

sent them an email asking about the fill power, here is their response

    Hello xxxxx,

The down pillow inserts we offer are a 90/10 (90% white goose down & 10% white goose feather). All pillows are over-sized 2", for example a 20" insert fits a 20" pillow cover. They are the firmest pillows on today's market. They have a fill power of 600+. Please let us know if you have any further questions.

    Thank you,

    Douglas

Not bad for the price if that is your biggest concern. If quality of the down is the biggest concern I'd keep shopping.

Decided to give these pillows a shot. I ordered a 72 ounce pillow and I will be sure to update this thread after I receive it and am able to determine the quality of down. If it ends up being on par with the kmart pillows then this could be another economical choice for down.

600 fill power used to be top grade years ago. No longer. If you want softness that's probably fine. If you want warmth... pass and spend the money for high quality. Especially with down you want to deal with vendors you know and trust.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

What about using these to make some summer type UQ's or TQ's? Would this fill be ok if you're not counting on it to keep you warm in more frigid temps? I mean 72 oz for $30 is pretty ridiculous! I mean ridiculous as in too good to be true!

Bloomingdales My Luxe pillows are what most of us use. On ebay, I believe they're called Bloomings My luxe down pillows. Go for the 2 pack, and go for kings. It is quality down with no additional fillers and no polyester core in the middle. I was able to make 3 3/4 length UQs, supposedly 20 degrees UQ and with draft tubes, and still have half a pillow left over.

Many here bid on them, so it is next to impossible to get the price we were able to over a year ago.
