Missouri Hang 2 - Bell Mt. Wilderness - Potosi, MO - Nov. 17-18
We had a great group of 10 hangers along for the weekend hike to the top of Bell Mountain.
We met at the trailhead at about 10am Saturday. It was a perfect day with a forecasted high of 60*F and sunny. We hiked the trail from the lower Hwy A trailhead, which is the more difficult spot to start from, but the views along the way are rewarding. We made the top by about 2:30. The views at the peak are some of the best in Missouri. We all picked our spots and hung our gear, then had dinner around the fire. The sky was clear so the stars were amazing and we even saw some of the meteor shower. The sunrise had to be the best thing about the entire trip. It rose over the hills and valley to the east of us. We all had an incredible view of it from our site. Coffee and breakfasts were consumed and we broke camp. Some hiked the remaining part of the loop and some hiked back down the way we came up. I did finally end up finding one of the peak markers. It was right by the concrete pilons we stopped at before going out on the glade. I never found the newer one though.
All in all, I had a great time and I think everyone else did as well. It's an awesome area with some great nature to see.

I posted my favorites below.
Hopefully everyone else will post their pics as well. You can also email them to me if you'd like at [email protected] and I will post them.
We'll have another hang in January, be there or ne square!
