I couple of points I've observed while trying to stealth:
1-go low to the ground if there are bushes to help conceal you,
2-hang higher or lower than the normal view of a person walking by, ie higher on the hillside or lower in the valley,
3-don't hang where headlights will illuminate you (or the police car's spotlight),
4- don't hang near where the 2am trysts park,
5-set up late and get packed early

Hahaha! I can't wait to try this once my hammock comes! There's sooo many places to do this here in Vermont
All the parks and trails around here I will try this as soon as my hammock gets here. Load my pack and head out before dark and pack up and head home at sunrise. Nice walking/jogging/bike trail a short walk away.
No stealth hanging for me yet but would like to say hello to your friend Larry Bourgeois. I too am a Bourgeois and we are few and far between in the hiking community. My relatives left Canada and traveled to south Louisiana I believe over 200 years ago! Nice to know you guys are still going strong up there.

Well Hello back to you BayouBomber, it's nice to meet you Mr. Bourgeois. Maybe we're 15th cousins or something eh. Hope you give this stealth hang'n a try this year dude, it's awesome. Up here along the Ottawa River Parkway, I've tested out a few spots that worked out great for a total day hang. Gonna try them out for an over nighter too this summer.
All the best friend!

Hanging overnight inside the city, anywhere other than my backyard scares the crap outta me. I'd have to sleep "armed" to be comfortable.
I've thought about it, but there really isn't a good place for it in my town.
By definition, stealth camping should not be photo'd, documented, or even talked about...
