    Good Trip!!! I was in that tower in the winter of 09’, Great views!!! I love those old rickety fire towers.

    They said never again to going up the tower! I can truly understand why! Beautiful and I loved seeing snow at the base. Now you guys climbed up from Deep Creek correct-that's 4000 feet of gain, so hats off to all of you.
    OK, I admit it, when you aimed the i-phone out and down from the top of the tower it scared me
    Glad you got that loop in and bet you are already scheming the next one, Shukstack maybe!

    I highly recommend this loop to anyone wanting to see the tower. Just be ready for a long, steep, rocky downhill on the way out. Baxter Creek trail is beautiful, but I don't think there was one spot to stop that didn't have a rock or root.

    I'm definitely ready to get back out there again. Love the Smokies.
