Thumbs up Readystraps - Pro straps

Awhile back, about a year or so back i contacted Gary over at readystraps.com to see if he could sew a 2 inch straps onto a 1 inch strap. At the time i had been harrased by a forest ranger about my straps having the potential to damage the trees that i was hanging on,, none the less he must have had it out for me and made me take down my hammock so i wanted to avoid any further problems and decided that a 2 inch strap at the tree was the answer.
Gary agreed to try to understand what i wanted and after a couple of trial and era straps he finnaly came up with a set that were perfect and i ordered several pair to be made.
Quite a few other hangers also thought this was a good idea and also ordered some,,, good for Gary and good for the trees !!

The problem that some hangers had with these straps were that they were alittle heavier than they wanted to carry .
So Gary designed a new and improved set up called the Pro Strap..

Monday i ordered a couple of the new Pro Straps from Readystraps and they arrived today.
I knew how they were made and what they were made of because i looked at them on his website and even found a video about them there.
All i can say is WOW These straps are really nice, a heck of alot lighter than the original ones that i have been lugging around and very very nicely done, ..
The stitchwork on these straps are perfect and if you have or have had any concerns about damaging trees from hanging then these straps are the answer for you,, very reasonably priced and Gary will make them to any custum size you need.
His customer service is right up there with the best of the best of cottage venders we have here.
I have been admiring these straps for about an hour now and i'm getting ready to swap out my old straps with these later on today and i have not even recieved my invoice to pay for them yet !!!

I just wanted to give Gary a big thunbs up for putting together another quality product for us here on the forum to enjoy!!

No pictures?? How long is the 2" wide portion? It seems like most buckles I've seen are designed for the 1" webbing. I'll have to cruise over to his site and check them out.

The 2 inch section is 4 ft long and the 1 in is 8 but can be made anything you like,, go check out the website, there's a video and pictures,, they also come with a quick draw set up with cinch buckles but you can get them without the qd's and use your whoopies as well.

I got a set of those a couple weeks ago now. Have used them a couple times. Love them, cheaper then the ENO slap straps but 10X stronger.

I recently contacted the new owners that took over readystraps, com and asked about the pro straps and if they would be willing to custom make some and they replied back to me and said that they would not and they would only be offering straps in the pre determend lenghts that are listed on the website.

I nicely informed them that alot of us forum members are very loyal to our cottage venders and as far as i myself go, i would not buy the same straps from them that Dutch and Dream hammocks sells just because they are a dollar cheaper, but would be very interested in the speacialty straps that i origanally contacted them about.

    They did not reply.

I will stick to the venders that i know and trust and if i have to i will just use a 2 in x 4 ft hugger, and loop my 1 inch strap onto it.Problem solved

The "new owner" is the old owner, he ended up not selling.

Most likely he's dealing with existing stock and has run out of the 2".

He's also had a bad experience here at HF since coming back, and that may be having an effect.
