Loading software, printing maps, packing up and heading out tomorrow for 3 or 4 days. In desperate need for some alone time.............scouting for FBH is as good excuse as any..........Have snow hanging on the ground today........never now it just might stay...............expect it on the ground up-nort............let you know when I get back............

Well, I am all set to go...
depart Tues 15th for TZ's place in Fenton, MI... ;
depart Wed for Stairguy's place in Minneapolis;
depart Thur for Finland;
Thu, Fri, Sat, Sun in Finland;
depart Sun back to Stairguy's place;
depart Mon back to TZ's place;
depart Tues 22nd for home.
Four days travel for four days in Finland Forest!

We have a plan
I am working on a shortened military Akio, down to 6 foot, and starting on ideas for a bag / trunk system to fit. I reduced the weight of the sled from 35 lb to 25 lb. Pics when done
Since I have a 35lb Akio, I will bring it.
Last year my brother in Chicago gave me his traditional snow shoes, which he has not used in 30 years. When I had a leather and cat gut lacrosse stick, we treated it with some kind of oily stuff... can't remember what it was. Should I give the old snow shoes a similar kind of treatment?

Linseed oil works well on traditional snowshoes. It looks as though stairguy may be in for a rough trip back from the SHT. Blizzard conditions are predicted along with a foot of snow and icy road conditions.
