UL Adjustable Ridgeline ?'s

My UL arrived yesterday and I already put whoopies on it for my first mod. I'm thinking about putting an adjustable ridge line (whoopie on one end) on it. I've done some research and found that some people comment that a ridge line actually doesn't work well on an UL. Is this so?

For those who do have one, how do you like it? How much of a benefit is there with the additional sag that it provides? Also, I was wondering what length of a ridge line should I be aiming for?

I had one on my GTUL. Not only does it make for the same set up every time but it also used for hanging a RL orginizer, my watch, head lamp etc. Just do it.

I have one as well. I like it and as KMACK mentioned I get to use it to hold a few items.

Easy enough to add and if you don't like, easy enough to remove.

I have one on mine as well. The GTUL is my easy chair at home and I use that ridgeline to hang any number of things off of.

I just bought a Gtul,on the for sale forums. And waiting for it to arrive! I am looking forward to trying it out and already ordered from Stu at Whoopee Slings, a set of tree straps, whoopies, and a whoopie ridge line system like you mentioned. I love my wbbb and all, but I need to try and experiment! If all else should fail, at least I'll have a back up hammock to share or just "rest a bit" in!
Ill let out know how it thorns out once I get the hammock.

Alright, I'm going to install one. How much amsteel should I need to make one or should I just buy one from Arrowhead, BIAS, whoopieslings.com, or some other vendor?

I'm actually going through the process for the exact same thing right now. I got an Adjustable Ridgeline as a PIF, and started making the measurements. The ridgeline I got is way too big for it, but better too long than too short. The GTUL itself is 9' long, and I think I read somewhere that you take 83% of that to figure out what your ridgeline length should be, so in this case that'd be ~90". Not knowing much about the splicing aspect of it, I'm not sure how much additional you'd need to create the whoopie end of it, for the loop on the other end, etc. Hopefully this is good to start with.
