How good is the seal on a rubber-made storage box? Able too keep humidity out?

Probably restrict the air movement a bunch, but not all.
A plastic bag would restrict it more, but then it would lock whatever moisture is already there inside.
I like a plain old cotton bag, but you could get some kind of fancy breathable fabric (maybe a double XL Sea to Summit w/ eVent or the like), but feathers have a natural oil to them which will resist taking on moisture. Most manufacturers send along a mesh or cotton bag. The feathers can loft better.
If it was extremely humid, I might put one in a Rubbermaid with some kind of moisture absorption product (like a DampRid).
The storage bags that JRB quilts are shipped in are breathable, clear for identification, zipped and fit on the average closet shelf...Easy solution.

My JRB MW4 is hung up beside my 0 degree Habanero Bag from MEC and my Canadian Forces Cold Weather Bag. Keep it hung or lay it flat to maintain loft.

My wife's made me about 8 larger (2-3 feet tall and maybe 18 inch diameter) cloth sacks with drawstrings for the various quilts and sleeping bags in use by our family. We then put those on the floor in our gear closet.

i keep all my down and cold weather gear laid out on a bed in cottage next to my home, shake and turn every 2 r 3 weeks, must work ok as I've got an original camp 7, 0 degree bag I've had 39 yrs and still has 8in loft. Paul from arrowhead rt on, make sure all insulating gear is dry. If weather is good @ camp site first thing after getting up is air bedding for an hour or so over a line. my 3cents, jim
