    Hi, from South Carolina

Hey, there everyone. I've been casually using a GT ultralight during the summers; but, recently my buddy let me borrow his Warbonnet Blackbird set-up with all the downy goodness. I'm a changed man, now! Looks like I'm heading to the trees for good so I came here for advice and tips.

I'm active on other forums and thoroughly enjoy backpacking, hiking, and bushcraft. My background is former USMC infantry turned soon-to-be wildlife biologist.

I am really looking forward to learning new skills here.

    Thank you!

Welcome, Omega Man! I'll be over your way tomorrow evening. I hear there's going to be a game in town, and thought I'd drop in, as I'm down in SC visiting family.

Since you are a former Marine infantry, let me suggest a book you might enjoy. It's "Walking on the Happy Side of Misery" by J. R. Tate, aka "Model-T," a former Marine infantry if recollect serves me correctly. About his thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail.

    Anyway, welcome to HF!
