Anyone have experience with a 'something' between layers and an UQ underneath? I am basically trying to talk myself into a new hammock instead of a new UQ to get colder weather options... so forget the practical advice of just using a pad in my current single layer 'cause that is just no fun.
My concern is some unexpected issue with fitting it all up in the field.
I am eyeballing a Black Bird, my UQ is a summer weight Incubator.

It really is all relative to the person. Yes you'll get a boost and if you're a warm sleeper a pretty solid boost. But if you are jumping your summer quilt into a winter quilt, it may take more than a layer of reflectix or pad to be the deciding factor. May want to also look into a sock and some warm clothes!

do yourself a favour get the under quilt... i messed around with all kinds of pads, insulation, wool blankets sleeping bag mods never got comfortable and had condensation problems when it did, i got a 0deg incubator and although its alot to fork out its worth every penny best thing i have in my kit and whats more i see that hammock gear has a sale right now so my advise is pull the trigger you wont be sorry
