Safety Orange all weather tarp or Ripstop

I just got my first hammock, and I am so excited, but now I need a tarp. I want something in a bright safety orange because we have lots of hunters here in Alabama and I don't want to get shot by accident while hanging. I am looking for a large 4 season tarp with doors to keep the storms out. When it rains it pours here, so I need something nice and big. If I cannot get that, I'd be happy with like 10 yards of Rip Stop Nylon. I have a plan to make my own tarp with a seamless ridgeline (the seams will be in the middle of the side panels), then once the tarp is made I will use a DIY Silnylon formula I got off the forums to make it waterproof and seal the seams all at once.

I'm hoping to get the fly for under $60+S&H of the ripstop for around $30+S&H if that is doable.

I made a couple poncho/tarp/hammocks out of the blaze orange from RSBTR and it is good safety orange. I would buy the sil nylon and just seam seal the threads.

I agree. I've done it both ways. This is the easiest and most reliable method, especially if you don't have a lot of experience making gear.

Here's one I made using Quest's blaze orange sil: www.hammockforums.net/forum/showthread.php/100563-Raven-Cliff-Falls-Hang-10-19-14

That is exactly the kind of tarp I want to make, maybe a bit larger. also I want to have a no seam ridge line by sewing panels to the sides so I wouldn't have to worry about dripping straight down on me, also it will be better for applying tie outs.

Love the look, far too expensive for me right now. Only think it's missing is an underquilt.
