To search for sleeping dogs in old posts, you can type this into google

    site:hammockforums.net dog sleep

HF doesn't search for dog since the word is too short or common.

Here is how Lacy sleeps with Wildman; Lacy is the Lab BTW...

Wait until you see the video of her getting into her hammock! I haven't seen it but Wildman assures me it is very unique!

heres a good ultra light trick.i take a piece of zing it line with me.tie it into you tarp lines so that it forms a triangle back toward your hammock, leaving the low end with the tent stake facing the wind.run the line through the bottom opening of your coat, then out the sleeve (with it zipped up).now slide the taught line hitch end of you rope up ,or down the tarp lines until you have the pitch on your coat tight . attach your coat to the line with a small piece of line with a taught line hitch.put your sit pad on the floor of your coat tent, now you have a warm little tent for your buddy.big dog i would put a big pile of leaves right by my hammock.when the dog lays down i throw my down coat over the top.warm weather just the leaf pile under the tarp area.with it close to you its possible to reach down, and recover your dog with the coat without getting up.this will get a two snores up from your dog lol.

This is a great thread and some great ideas. It answered all the questions I had about taking my dog with me for a hang. Someone should sticky this one.

Like Rat said, Lacie was snug as a dog in a Eno this weekend. I am working on some customization for her, but soon, she will be oufitted with a doggie over and under quilt and video of "Lab Landing" to come.

If you are off for a long drive to office or some other place then its better for you to tie him near a place where you think he would be safe from all or if at all you are just on the way to return in quick time then there is no need to tie him as you know they are loyal and they wont leave you (only if your dog is cool and never tries to hurt anyone if not dont take any extra risk) so if at all you are planning to shift your tent to house then i guess you can leave him free in the house !

Here is my setup when I was product testing that dog bed.

I make more pronounced wings to give the pups more coverage. My dog likes to push up against something when he sleeps.

I may try to make a smaller heavier duty hammock for his big bully butt. He already ruined a GTUL of mine by being rowdy, but I am willing to try again.
