I always wrap the strap around the tree twice. Never had a problem with them slipping with either me in or out of the hammock.
i also do not like the stock carabiners on the eno single nest hammock they are very bulky and heavy i im thinking about getting rock climbing carabiners that weigh 29 grams so they are super ultra light
Have you look into Dutch biners or Dutch hooks. Good luck.
+1 on the CAMP or the Mad Rock Ultralight Bent Wiregate. Whichever is in stock where I shop. Both are about the lightest around, while still meeting the necessary force requirements.

I replaced mine too with some biners from REI. They are much lighter and I don't have to worry about the sharp edges like the stock ones have.
