What else did you have in the way of insulation?

Same question, what kind of layers were you sleeping in which might have provided some back insulation? Even if just a few degrees, like fleece jacket? Sounds like you could have gone even a few degrees colder.

Because this is what I have been saying: it seems to me like a 30*F rating for a 6 oz per sq.yd piece of Climashield is extremely conservative. Considering I have done mid/high 40s with a 2.5 oz layer of CS and NO OTHER LAYERS. I look forward to seeing how far folks will be able to push these UQs this winter. I'm betting most folks will be able to well past the 30F rating!

i had just a long sleeve carhart shirt on and a tshirt over that and just a pair of jogging pants and 2 pairs of socks. I could have went much colder if i had used a water bottle and busted out the thermals and jackets

I've had my lost river down to 6 degrees on the AT last February. I had plenty of layers on and managed to sleep through the night.

Wow, that's pretty impressive! I nominate these quilts for "most warmth for the dollar"!

I've been really pleased with my Jarbridge. I had it down to 37 one night. It was SUPER windy, and every now and then, it'd steal the warmth from the UQ, but it warmed right back up super quick. I did that hang with lightweight long underwear and a lightweight fleece.

I took advantage of the HG black friday sale, so I'm interested to see how it compares to down. One thing that's always bugged me about the Jarbridge is how hard it is to compress. Nonetheless, it's an incredible value. I was planning on selling it to fund my HG Phoenix, but I think I'll just hang on to it. I'm sure I'll end up loaning it to someone I drag on one of my forced marches.
