EAR PLUGS LazyBee. I always keep a pair of the cheap foam ones in my firstaid kit.
They really help when the wind start rattling a spin or cuben tarp.

Those chemical hand warmers have also helped me if I get a chill I can't recover from.

The breathable UQP is wonderful on a cold windy nite it not only blocks the wind but help support the UQ keeping cold spots away.

I'm over in the Roswell area and took advantage of the cold (for Georgia) weather to test out some new equipment. It got down to about 32* Friday night. I ran into the same issue of the wind. I had my tarp set a bit too high, the bottom of the sides were about even with my butt, so when a good wind kicked up I would feel it.

I don't have any experience with the set-ups you're thinking of but have experienced that windy chill. Always is a bummer when the wind changes direction!

Please post what you go with and how it works. I hate the idea of adding more weight to my pack, but I hate being cold even more!

I have a 2QZQ UQP and, anymore, I just leave it attached to my underquilt. It's very light and doesn't add much volume. It protects the underquilt in case it touches the ground while I'm setting up or breaking camp, and it adds a little protection from rain and wind.

I think sometimes people need to go trough all this stuff to enjoy the weather in a very different way ! have gone trough the similar situation once and taken whole one week to recover from the cold !
