    New Suspension System

I'm curious about the new 'secondary' suspension system Adam is using on his quilts now. I know that they were hoping to do some sort of instructional video or something, but what with the Black Friday sale I'm sure that's the last thing they have time for.

So, to the point - does anyone have any pictures they can post, showing the suspension attached and deployed? I've seen a few pictures in various threads showing a closeup of the linelock that's on a grosgrain loop, but not of it actually used and or connected to anything. I've read the thread Adam posted all about it, and I'm pretty sure I understand what it's all about - but a picture is worth a thousand words, as they say. Sometimes you just need to see something in order to confirm what you think is correct.

So if anyone has one of the newer quilts, and might have time to take a handful of pics, or if you're really industrious post a short video, that would be awesome.

    Cheers!

I set up a hammock to take photos, and as I started to hang my "newest" HG UQ, I remembered that I have the "intermediate" suspension....which is just the shock cord looped from corner to corner with line locks (half of the "new" suspension). Add the "old" suspension (which is a continuous loop of shock cord through both side channels) to that and you have the "new" suspension. Clear as mud, right?

It's really pretty simple. The line locked loops (off of both ends) attached to the hammock suspension, lift and stretch the UQ. The continuous loop through the side channels also attaches to the hammock suspension but is only able to lift the UQ and does a better job of snugging the sides in against you.

Both pieces of the suspension attach to or exit the UQ at the corners and are routed the same to the hammock suspension. Either piece of the suspension can support the UQ by itself. Together, you get the best of both and a little better prevention against sag in very cold weather when the shock cord loses elasticity.

You're right...photos would have been better.

Soooo................this is a current photo from the HG which shows the suspension "as hung".
