For some. I'm not a fan of the BB and didn't like the shelf. It could've been how I set it up but I just didn't care for it.

I can say that at the 1st Annual Florida Hang about 5 of us tried one that someone brought. I'm pretty sure that all of us either bought the Switchback or similar. I chose the Light Hiker since it's a little lighter and it's my primary hammock now. We all found the Switchback to be a very comfortable hammock.

Of course when the mailman comes today I should have a Lite Owl so that might change.

Of all the bird types I've owned my favorite is the Snipe.

AS far as birds go....I'd have to give a thumbs up to the Dangerbird. LOVE that weathershield. It's always summer when that baby's zipped up.

The DB is intriguing as well. I briefly tried one at the SC Fall Sprawl in Sept. I'd be tempted to try it again. I need to find someone local with one for me to borrow.

I love my Dangerbird. Very comfy to lay in and and overcover and bugnet are right there if conditions warrant. And out of the way if not needed. It's become my go-to hammock for all but day hikes. Have a MARPAT Freebird for those. And it's very nice as well. Lightweight and packs up small and tight, perfect for pulling out to sit and eat lunch, then take a nap to digest that lunch
Leave me alone, I'm only talking to my dog today.

I may be outnumbered, but never outmanned.

DangerBird, SwitchBack, Dangerbird, Switchback. I know I want a built in net, but if I have a tarp, why do I need a built in cover?

The overcover helps hold in heat during the winter and keeps light dew off during warmer weather. No need for a tarp in good conditions. Plus keeps the sunlight out if laying there for a quick nap in the afternoon or sleeping in in the morning.

+1 I think it's been pretty well documented that it's about 15 to 20 degrees warmer with a weathershield or sock. The Dangerbird saved my butt many nights on the AT this Spring when the temps were in the twenties and the wind was howling up in the Smokies. It pretty much cuts the wind chill down to zero. My tarp helped but the weathershield made the real difference.
