Hello from Northern Virginia

Just found your site and see lots of good info. Seems like a nice group of people.
I'm a hobby camper; I've been camping for over 50 years - the full spectrum (HH to Motorhome) - in all 50 states. Hammocks became my preference about 4 years ago. My tents are now loaned out to guests, the RV is for bringing my wife along.
I live in the country and about 40 miles East of the AT - so lots of opportunity.
4 days/3 nights is my limit on the trail - I like to shower and eat good food.
I like my HH for warm weather (bug season), but plan to make a winter Hammock for when the bug screen is just in the way.
My grandkids are in training to backpack with me - HH and DIY ultra-light style.
I hope to share ideas with you after I read more of the existing posts. Winter is my time to learn from those that have been there/done that.

I love your area of VA...Front Royal is amazing, right at the foot of skyline drive.

I worked at Prince William Forest Park this summer and lived in Triangle. Not too far from your area...though driving is a nightmare in those parts...yuck!
