We will also have a sign in sheet so we will know who showed up.

There are 2 REI's in the area. One in Cary and one in Durham. Estimated 30+ minute drive depending on traffic and route you take

well normally I make a ceasar based cole slaw but my sons is mayo based with a splash of vinegar for taste. so we will be bringing that

I'm cool with that. I would just need to find a place to put my name tag...maybe on my hat? I don't want VisonaryLoin to be looking at my chest all weekend.
darn I was looking forward to looking at chests

Craperola, that far? I apologize in advance to whomever will drive me there to pick up the kayak.
I reserved my kayak at the one in Durham.

BTW, they switched my reservation to a <forgot the type already> which is longer, sleeker, and has a rudder. A rudder. Maybe also a sail and a whale gun.

Don't check on the thread for 12 hours and you guys run away with things. That is awesome. I'm bringing a couple boxes of pancake mix and a couple bottles of syrup to go with someones breakfast plans for one of the days as well.

Lunch is pretty much a fend for yourself affair for the weekend, and while Friday's weather looks a little questionable depending upon which meteorologist you listen to, Saturday is looking splendid thus far. And for star watchers we may get a chance to see a few shooting stars if we're lucky.

oh boy i am so excited about this hang

1st my daughter slept the night in hammock Saturday over Sunday at Hanging Rock STate park. (other than getting up to go to the bathroom at midnight) She did fine. Stayed warm with sleeping bag acting as a pea pod. 1st time camping was 2 years ago and now she has spent a night in a hammock. I am impressed with the little lady. I hope that the weather cooperates and rains move on. I have some mountain biking I would like to accomplish while I am there and it would make the Mrs more comfortable too #1 wants to hang again!

Bonepile I am looking forward to some more of your BBQ. It was delicious at the Yates Hang. (licking lips in anticipation)

might really need these if the weather doesn't change. I HOPE IT DOES> b/c I am nervous about hammock camping in the rain with an Eno PRO FLY.

I think we need to encourage people to put what meals they are planning on cooking for people and if people can help by bringing anything to help out those meals. I have talked to 4WLO about helping provide some with a breakfast. I think pancakes can make a great addition to any other breakfast provided. I think that they is going to be a great weekend especially if the weather changes for the good.

Great idea. I can't tell you how many trips I've been on where there's leftover food that just goes to waste.
I used to be a somebody, now I just camp.

Doctor confirmed today that I fractured my tailbone. She asked how I fell and I laughed and told her my whoopie sling slipped off the knot of my marlin spike hitch and I hit the ground. Since sitting hurts and I just can't get comfortable, I have to cancel attendance at this hang. The good news is that they didn't put my butt in a cast. If I win something at the drawing, maybe Fireinmybones will bring it this way and I or my husband can meet up with him somewhere. I'm really, really bummed about this.
