    Decision time in NC

I've received a lot of good suggestions about attending group hangs to look at other folk's gear and I've watched Shug's videos 'til I feel like I know him personally but Christmas is coming and Santa would like for me to make up my mind! There appears to be a lot of good equipment available out there but I've pretty much decided to go with a WBBB 1.1 DL. I have only one concern. I'm not a big guy weight-wise but I'm 6'7" tall. Have any of you taller guys or gals had a problem with getting comfortable in the BB?

Also, I'm undecided about suspension. Any thoughts?

    Thanks for your input,

    Griff

The BB is a fine hammock but for your height, you might be more comfortable in a longer hammock. Maybe something like the 11 foot Dream Hammock Roaming Gnome or if you want to use it in winter, the 11 foot Dangerbird. With regards to suspension, if you want weight and bulk savings, whoopie slings and webbing are a good choice but if that's not an issue, cinch buckles and webbing are simple and easy to adjust. Good luck.

If you want a integrated bug net then I definitely second going with Dream Hammocks. However if you want a modular system so that you can leave excess weight at home for backpacking then I'd suggest looking at Wilderness Logic's lineup of wonderful hammocks as well.

But really no matter which hammock you choose if you don't absolutely love it you can always resell it here for near what you actually paid for it, less shipping charges of course, and sue that money towards your next hammock purchase.

As for group hangs, we've got one coming up here in NC in April, The Smoked Butt hang.

I'm 6'5" 240 lbs. and the BB works for me. I'm a side sleeper and have no problem getting a good nights sleep. I have an ENO DN strung up in the basement for when I need a good dose of 'back therapy' inside but the BB is my primary outdoor hammock.
