Headed to Uwharrie, Yates Place early Friday for the weekend.
I'll just call it the "Uwharrie Spring has Sprung Hang".
I need to tweak some gear before attending this hang the following weekend: https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...ad.php?t=63722
The weekend weather forecast is 'springlike' Imagine That!
Come on out test your gear, chat with some other hammockers, practice making fire without a lighter or fuel and give those hiking muscles a spring workout.
All slow-hikers, newbies, Uwharrie veteran's, and high-mileage hikers are welcome. Cause, You know...everyone is welcome.
Lots of hiking opportunities, bikes too. I'll be working a trail building/maintenance project Saturday instead of hiking
- that shouldn't stop anyone else from hiking Saturday, of course!;-)
I'm Still open to a short hike on Friday afternoon and on Sunday (given sufficient vitamin-I Saturday night). PS: I'm a slow-hiker...
Facilities: Free- no fees. Primitive campsites with picnic table, lantern post, fire ring, and grill. Vault toilet, no water close by (bring your own water (BYOW).
Here's the location, Yates Place Camp, a few miles West of Troy, NC: http://www.fs.usda.gov/Internet/FSE_...rdb5378693.pdf
I should arrive at Yates Place on Friday morning, God willing, so I'll try to secure a site with lots of room for hammocks.
Hope to see ya!
