    What do you do...

In Texas the night's usually start warm enough to not need my topquilt... And then some point I need the thing...

What do you guys do with it when you don't need it... I'm using a down sleeping bag... Do you lay it across your self... Do you throw it over ridgeline... I wouldn't think any one would put it on their ground cloth...

Usually just lay it beside me in the hammock so it's easy to pull up later as the temps drop.
Everyone ought to believe in something....I believe I'll go set up the hammock!

I take the near side of the quilt and hang it up over the ridgeline. This keeps it straight and laid out above me until i get cold then even in the dark you can just reach up and pull it down onto yourself knowing its not bunched up and you wont have to unravel it to get it flat.

Do you leave your feet in the footbox?

Yes, other than the footbox the rest of the quilt is hung (kind of half down half draped) over the line nice and straight and ready to be pulled down.

    Brute1100,

In Round Rock Texas here and as you know, Saturday night was in the 70s day and 40s night and it was 31 Sunday night. I was hanging on Saturday. Climbed in t-shirt and shorts cussing the humid air. Woke up in the wee hours trying to get my underquilt pulled over and my Cat's Meow over me.

Here is what I do. I have a underquilt I made that I put my bag in and then push it off the hammock and let it hang on one side of me. When I get cold, I reach under pull my bag out and then pull the underquilt back over the bottom of my hammock. Cover up, cuss Texas weather and fall back to sleep.
