Summer quilt with pad for low temps advice

So, my new ULA CDT pack requires a good pad for internal structure. I'm waiting on the arrival of a Thermarest Trail Lite 3/4 pad (blowup type). To minimize weight and further purchases, for near freezing weather, I'm hoping to use it with my summer 40 degree Incubator. Planning to put the pad between the layers of my double layer traveler hammock.
Anyone have any success with a summer full length quilt and pad?

It works fine. You will need some insulation around your shoulders and feet (down booties). I just don't like pads and am a cold sleeper. Going to a 0* for year round. It's also a lot colder around here.
